Italian Stone means Excellence
It is no coincidence that many English developers continue to turn to Italy to source large quantities of natural materials for top-of-the-market projects. "The Natural Stone Show", in fact, demonstrated how popular is Italian style and its quality of production.
The Stone Industry Event, one of the most important important Building & Construnction trade show in United Kingdom, showed the best of Italian quality of production, thanks for the presence of prestigious firms such as Agglotech, Basaltina, GDA Marmi e Graniti and Nicola Fontanili. Moreover, the average price of stone imported from Italy in 2015, £952 a tonne in the UK, compared with £148 a tonne from the Far East, confirmed this trend. The famous white and blue-grey marbles of Carrara, Classic Basaltina, Agglotech's terrazzo and Palissandro (an exclusive variety of 8 marbles created by Nicola Fontanili) impressed tiling and stone contractors. This year, visitor attendance was 19 per cent higher than previous edition, held on April 2015. The Architects'day of the Conference was the best attended yet with 140 architects and designers, enjoying their guided tours of the show hosted by Vincent Marazita and Peter Harrison. We had a great opportunity to visit this important event for the Building & Construction industry and we think there is every reason to be excited about the next edition, which will be held on 30th April - 2nd May 2019 at ExCel London.
