Americas: Building Stronger Partnerships

In the Americas, collaboration is key to enhancing the exhibitions industry. JLL Group’s investment in Visual Show Solutions (VSS) is improving event management technology, while Maritz’s acquisition of Convention Data Services (CDS) is streamlining trade show registration and organization.

Canada’s Exhibition Place made a big impact in 2023, generating $594 million for the economy. With over 1,700 events hosted and 3,700 jobs supported, it continues to grow as a top event destination.

Europe: Leading with Innovation

Europe remains at the forefront of exhibitions, embracing technological advancements and sustainable practices. Expo Stars’ partnership with the UK’s Fair platform is transforming how exhibitors use event technology, while the Frankfurt Book Fair’s digital tools are enabling seamless international participation.

Sustainability is also a top priority, with the Net Zero Carbon Events initiative helping reduce emissions from exhibitions. This commitment to eco-friendly practices showcases Europe’s leadership in creating a greener industry.

Middle East and Asia: Expanding Possibilities

The Middle East is making significant investments in infrastructure to host larger and more impactful exhibitions. Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan aims to expand Expo City Dubai, increasing its capacity to over 108,000 sqm by 2031 and attracting more international visitors.

In Asia, RX India is strengthening its leadership team to grow the region’s exhibition industry. Events like IBTM Asia Pacific highlight how the region is adapting to changes and building resilience.

Australasia: Sustaining Momentum

Australasia’s exhibitions sector is on the rise, with Adelaide set to host the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX). This event is expected to inject $240 million into South Australia’s economy in the next five exhibitions, showcasing the region’s importance in the global market. South Australia’s first AIMEX will be held at the Adelaide Showgrounds in September 2025.

Global Trends for 2025

1. Sustainability at the Core Sustainability is becoming a central focus in exhibition planning. Organizers are increasingly using reusable materials, eco-friendly designs, and tools like Isla’s Trace and ESSA’s Sustainability Accreditation to reduce environmental impact. From stand materials to transport and installation, every step is being reimagined with the planet in mind.

2. Digital Transformation Digital tools are reshaping how exhibitions engage attendees. Interactive screens, video walls, and immersive technologies captivate visitors while reducing the need for physical materials. Platforms like Eventbrite are enhancing marketing capabilities and broadening audience reach.

3. Experiential Stands Exhibitors are moving beyond traditional sales pitches, creating interactive and memorable experiences. Stands with live demonstrations, games, and hospitality areas are becoming standard, encouraging longer visitor engagement and building genuine connections.

4. Advanced Lighting Lighting plays a crucial role in attracting visitors and setting the right atmosphere. New solutions like LED flex and faux neon signs make exhibition stands more dynamic and inviting.

5. Natural and Ethical Materials Using natural and recycled materials like raw timber and acrylic resonates with environmentally conscious audiences, aligning with the industry’s sustainability goals.

6. Hybrid Stands Combining rented and custom components, offer flexibility and cost efficiency for brands exhibiting in multiple locations. This approach is both practical and sustainable.
